A Word a Week: Atmospheric

Old barrels and cartAtmospheric is defined as creating a distinctive mood, typically of romance, mystery, or nostalgia. Although I took this picture this past weekend (February), it makes me think of fall, Halloween, leave piles, and the smell of apple cider.



A Word a Week: Violet

Purple Mountains MajestyThe Rocky Mountains have been described in song as “purple mountain majesties”. This is most appropriate during the winter months, when the mountains definitely take on a bluish-purplish coloring.


A Word a Week Challenge: Context and Figure

figure_contextI found this picture that fit the two newest challenges for the Word of the Week Photo Challenge. That was pretty lucky for me. I grabbed this picture a couple of years ago when we went out to dinner with my sister and her husband for his 50th birthday. As you can see from her expression, she’s not a big fan of the camera, but she will at least hold still for me when I ask her nicely.
