A Photo a Week Challenge: Dads and Daughters

Our youngest daughter moved to Chicago a couple of years ago after graduating from college. While we miss having her and her husband close by, we love visiting them. I also love watching my husband interact with his children, especially now that they are adults building their own lives. Halie and Russell share a unique sense of humor and a love of performing (onstage and off). When they are together, you can feel their deep connection and love for each other. She took us to Wrigley Field just so we could get a picture of Russell to show off to his business partner who loves the Cubs but hasn’t been to Chicago.

IN A NEW POST CREATED FOR THIS CHALLENGE, SHARE PHOTOS THAT FEATURE FATHERS AND DAUGHTERS.

Everyone is welcome to participate, even if your blog isn’t about photography.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Each week, I’ll come up with a theme and post a photo that I think fits. You take photographs based on your interpretation of the theme, and post them on your blog (a new post!) anytime before the following Thursday, when the next photo theme will be announced.
  2. To make it easy for others to check out your photos, title your blog post “A Photo a Week Challenge: (theme of the week)” and be sure to use the “postaday″ and “Photo a Week” tags.
  3. Come back here and post a link to your image in the comments for this challenge.
  4. Follow nancy merrill photography so that you don’t miss out on weekly challenge announcements.

Daily Post’s Weekly Photo Challenge: Favorite Place

I haven’t done much to edit this photo (just some cropping, really). It’s from our honeymoon nine years ago. (Wow, has it really been that long?) I used a remote to take a picture of the two of us. Wherever this man is, is my favorite place. Love you, honey!

A Photo a Week Challenge: Recreation

My husband has recently taken up fly fishing. He’s always loved regular casting fishing, but he has always wanted to try fly fishing. Last weekend, we headed up to the High Unita Mountains and the Upper Provo River for him to get in some practice and try out some new flies a friend had made for him. This amazing world we live in and on has so many places for fun recreation and play. This week, get your fun on and share what you enjoy doing to relax or get the adrenaline pumping.

IN A NEW POST CREATED FOR THIS CHALLENGE, SHARE A PHOTO OR TWO (OR THREE OR…) THAT SHOW FUN, RECREATION, OR ADVENTURE SEEKING.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Friend

Here is a picture of my best friend (my husband) doing two of his favorite things: traveling in Europe and posing in a fun perspective photo.

A Photo a Week Challenge: Tools (power and otherwise)

Boys and their power tools. My husband inherited a chainsaw from his uncle, and the first thing he thought about was going up to the cabin to cut firewood. The gleam in his eyes was amazing. He cut enough wood for the winter and then some. But seriously, power tools are fun and practical, which is why most people enjoy getting and using them (even the girls). It’s also a lot of fun to photograph them in action.

IN A NEW POST CREATED FOR THIS CHALLENGE, SHARE A PHOTO OR TWO OF TOOLS.

Everyone is welcome to participate, even if your blog isn’t about photography.
