My students had a recital last night, and I couldn’t resit posting this shot (similar to another of my Inside photo challenge shots). I took this after the recital, and my sisters are having fun trying out the piano. It’s new to the recital hall (they’ve only had it in here for two months), so it was the first time for everyone playing it.

We love fishing, but usually do it from the shore. While visiting family in California last fall, we had a blast boat fishing. We didn’t catch anything, but it was still so much fun.

I’ve taught piano for almost 30 years. These pictures are the inside of the Steinway 9′ concert piano my students play at recitals, thanks to Daynes Music Company in Salt Lake City. (The big black thing at the bottom left of the second picture is a mic that allows the store to record the performances and provide me with a nice CD I can copy and give to the students.)

London and it’s boroughs abound with squares. We stayed in a lovely bed & breakfast in Norfolk Square (easy walking distance from Paddington Station).

I’m not sure if this is an unusual point of view, as thousands of people walk past the front of Westminster Abbey in London each month (possibly each day), but I don’t know how many take the time to look up.
I was probably younger than two the first time I saw the ocean, so I don’t remember how I felt. I love the water. I love hearing the waves crash on the shore. I love the fresh smell of the ocean. I wish I lived closer to the ocean, but for now, I’ll take the Great Salt Lake, even with the brine shrimp (which you do not eat).

This is a picture of my husband. I love the close-up focus on his eyes. I love the lighting in this shot. I love the duality of what is in focus in the picture and the fact that his look is focused on me.

This week’s challenge is about focal points and perspective. I used two different lenses to create the different focus types. The top one is with a standard 18mm-55mm 1:3.5-5.6G (at 18mm wide angle) kit lens. The bottom one is with a 50mm 1:1.8G lens.
