A Photo a Week Challenge: Extended Family

extended_family_nmp

We all come from somewhere. We all have people we consider family, whether blood kin or chosen kin. The holidays are a time when we connect or reconnect with family and friends who make up our support systems, and extended family becomes very important. I hope that this holiday seasons brings you and your families great joy and closeness, no matter which holidays you are celebrating.

IN A NEW POST CREATED FOR THIS CHALLENGE, SHARE A PHOTO OR TWO (OR THREE…) THAT FEATURE THE PEOPLE IN YOUR EXTENDED FAMILY, BLOOD RELATION OR NOT.

Everyone is welcome to participate, even if your blog isn’t about photography. Here’s how it works:

  1. Each week, I’ll come up with a theme and post a photo that I think fits. You take photographs based on your interpretation of the theme, and post them on your blog (a new post!) anytime before the following Thursday, when the next photo theme will be announced.
  2. To make it easy for others to check out your photos, title your blog post “A Photo a Week Challenge: (theme of the week)” and be sure to use the “postaday″ and “Photo a Week” tags.
  3. Come back here and post a link to your image in the comments for this challenge.

A Photo a Week Challenge: Lights

With the Christmas season upon us, lights have become an important part of most people’s homes and cubicles at work. At the Draper City Park, this tree is the center point of their light display. To get this shot, I placed my tripod on the hill overlooking the tree and asked people to let me get a clear shot.

IN A NEW POST CREATED FOR THIS CHALLENGE, SHARE A PHOTO OR TWO (OR THREE…) THAT FEATURE LIGHTS OF ANY KIND.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Joy

Kanvas loves Uncle RussellOur niece loves my husband. At most family gatherings, you’ll find her following him around, asking him to pick her up, and trying to do whatever he is doing. On Christmas Day, she was so happy to have some Uncle Russell time. Her love brings us joy, and we hope that we give her some, too.
