Weekly Photo Challenge: Security

wpc_security_nmp

In a very insecure world, the love of family brings me the greatest feelings of security. It makes me so happy that these beautiful and amazing people are part of my family.

A Photo a Week Challenge: Happiness Is…

Our daughter is getting married a week from today (PSA: there will be no challenge next Thursday). They asked me to take their engagement pictures (and no, I am not shooting the wedding). The wedding will be in one of the Salt Lake Valley canyons, so we went there to take the photos. We are so happy for them. They are perfect for each other. They make each other happy, as you can see from these pictures. We can’t wait to see what the future holds for them. (P.S. Sorry about the photo dump. We’re a little proud of our children.)

IN A NEW POST CREATED FOR THIS CHALLENGE, SHARE A PHOTO OR TWO OF THINGS THAT MAKE YOU HAPPY OR THAT SHOW HAPPINESS.

Everyone is welcome to participate, even if your blog isn’t about photography.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Each week, I’ll come up with a theme and post a photo that I think fits. You take photographs based on your interpretation of the theme, and post them on your blog (a new post!) anytime before the following Thursday, when the next photo theme will be announced.
  2. To make it easy for others to check out your photos, title your blog post “A Photo a Week Challenge: (theme of the week)” and be sure to use the “postaday″ tag.
  3. Come back here and post a link to your image in the comments for this challenge.
  4. Follow nancy merrill photography so that you don’t miss out on weekly challenge announcements.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Optimistic

What keeps me optimistic? Relationships, especially family and close friends. I love this picture of my mother with her living siblings. I believe the only things we get to take with us when we finally shuffle off this mortal coil are who we are at our core (the heart of our matter) and the relationships we have cultivated while we’ve been here.

A Photo a Week Challenge: Bundle of Joy

Bundle of Joy

Joy comes in all shapes and sizes. I love taking pictures of newborns and babies. The parents are so excited about their new arrival, and the babies are so precious (though this little sweetie cried almost the entire time). Just look at her tiny hands!

IN A NEW POST CREATED FOR THIS CHALLENGE, SHARE ONE OR MORE PHOTOS THAT BRING YOU JOY.

Everyone is welcome to participate, even if your blog isn’t about photography. Here’s how it works:

Sunday Stills: Happiness Is…

I love my husband and his crazy sense of humor (he got my dad and uncle to pose for this “see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil” photo). I also love photographing weddings. There are many, many more things that make me happy. These were the first two I thought of.

A Photo a Week Challenge: Your Week

Four generations

This has been a very busy week. Work has been a little crazy, we got the tomatoes planted, and my nephew and his wife had a baby. He’s is so beautiful, and they are so happy. This photo is a four-generation shot: my mother on the left, my sister in the back, and the new papa with his amazing son on the right. Sometimes, normal life is the best image you can carry with you.

IN A NEW POST CREATED FOR THIS CHALLENGE, SHARE PHOTOS THAT SHARE WHAT HAPPENED DURING YOUR WEEK.

Everyone is welcome to participate, even if your blog isn’t about photography.
