A Photo a Week Challenge: Not What It Seems

I found this truck and pumpkins driving along a rural highway a few Januarys ago. The pumpkins are props for a fall corn maze and are made of wood. When I saw them, I was surprised that such large pumpkins had survived the winter, until I realized that they weren’t real.

IN A NEW POST CREATED FOR THIS CHALLENGE, SHARE A PHOTO OR TWO OF THINGS THAT ARE NOT WHAT THEY SEEM.

Everyone is welcome to participate, even if your blog isn’t about photography.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Each week, I’ll come up with a theme and post a photo that I think fits. You take photographs based on your interpretation of the theme, and post them on your blog (a new post!) anytime before the following Thursday, when the next photo theme will be announced.
  2. To make it easy for others to check out your photos, title your blog post “A Photo a Week Challenge: (theme of the week)” and be sure to use the “postaday″ tag.
  3. Come back here and post a link to your image in the comments for this challenge.
  4. Follow nancy merrill photography so that you don’t miss out on weekly challenge announcements.

A Photo a Week Challenge: Blue Skies

blueskies_nmp

In September, I was driving past this field and the combination of the small sunflowers against the blue sky made me really glad I had my camera with me. I know I’ve said this a few times in recent posts, but we really have had the most amazing fall. Beautiful leaves for months, clear skies, light rain when needed, and no snow to turn us suddenly to winter. The crispness of the cooling weather also helps create beautiful skies. Summer skies can be washed-out by the sun; winter skies can be days on end blocked by clouds, but fall and spring provide a wonderful time to capture the perfect blue sky.

IN A NEW POST CREATED FOR THIS CHALLENGE, SHARE A PHOTO OR TWO (OR MORE) OF BLUE SKIES.

Everyone is welcome to participate, even if your blog isn’t about photography.
