While helping my husband put together a slideshow for his lecture tomorrow (he teaches future architects about structures…he’s really cool), I came across the first photo taken last summer. Spiders are amazing architects. Their webs have been studied for centuries by builders and designers. The Denver International Airport uses a similar tension technic in its tent structures. Arches are also found throughout nature, especially in my neck of the woods in Southern Utah. The second image is of Natural Arch in Coyote Gulch, Escalante (if you look really closely, you can see me standing in the water under the arch, just as a reference for the size of it).
IN A NEW POST CREATED FOR THIS CHALLENGE, SHARE A PHOTO OR TWO (OR MORE) OF NATURAL STRUCTURES.
Everyone is welcome to participate, even if your blog isn’t about photography.

• Post a B & W photo for 7 days.
• 7 black and white photos of your life.
• No people.
• No explanation.
• Challenge someone new each day.
I would like to invite anyone who is interested in participating to do so. I would like to specifically invite Hammad from The Blog of Hammad Rais with the understanding that there is no obligation to participate!

These amazing doors are to the old City and Country Building in downtown Salt Lake City, Utah. The lovely girl posing in front of them is my cousin’s daughter. She picked this location for her senior photos. Great choice.
This is my entry for Norm 2.0’s Thursday Doors challenge.

This week’s challenge is all about architecture. This is the tower at Old Main on the Utah State University campus in Logan, Utah. Old Main is a beautiful building that overlooks the Cache Valley and Logan from the eastern foothills. I don’t know much about its history, but I do know that my husband is annoyed by the large A that they’ve put on the roof of the tower and the mirror windows that are obviously not from the same era as the rest of the structure.
IN A NEW POST CREATED FOR THIS CHALLENGE, SHARE A PHOTO OR TWO OF TOWERS.
Everyone is welcome to participate, even if your blog isn’t about photography.
Here’s how it works:

We are very comfortable with the view right around our eye level. My husband, who is 6’5″, has a much different view of the world than I do at 5’5″. Many times, we fail to notice things right under our feet. Now I will be honest; this view of the historic City and County Building in Salt Lake City is rarely right under my feet. We were lucky enough to win a helicopter ride around the city, and I was able to snap this picture.
IN A NEW POST CREATED FOR THIS CHALLENGE, SHARE A PHOTO OR TWO (OR THREE…) WHERE YOU POINT YOUR CAMERA DOWN OR GRAB A SHOT FROM A MUCH LOWER VIEW THAN YOU USUALLY SEE.

I hope this counts. It’s some of the ruins at Dunfermline Abbey in Scotland. The Abbey is still standing.
