A Photo a Week Challenge: Livestock

livestock_nmp

I only seem to photograph animals while on vacation. Hawaii is a bit overrun with hei heis (aka chickens). I’m not sure why they call them hei hei, but they were EVERYWHERE! The lovely rooster was at a plantation where we enjoyed a delicious and festive luau. He was moving so quickly, he’s not quite in focus, but the colors of his feathers are still beautiful.

IN A NEW POST CREATED FOR THIS CHALLENGE, SHARE A PHOTO OR TWO OF LIVESTOCK.

Everyone is welcome to participate, even if your blog isn’t about photography.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Each week, I’ll come up with a theme and post a photo that I think fits. You take photographs based on your interpretation of the theme, and post them on your blog (a new post!) anytime before the following Thursday, when the next photo theme will be announced.
  2. To make it easy for others to check out your photos, title your blog post “A Photo a Week Challenge: (theme of the week)” and be sure to use the “postaday″ and “Photo a Week” tags.
  3. Come back here and post a link to your image in the comments for this challenge.

A Photo a Week Challenge: Public Transportation

It’s been a year since I did a transportation challenge, and the last time also featured photos from a trip to Chicago. I guess that’s because Salt Lake City is such a personal transportation city. Everyone I know owns a car, and most of the people I know drive their cars daily. But anyway, we just came back from Chicago, and we had the chance to catch the “L” to a Cubs game at Wrigley Field. (Maybe next week I’ll do a sports theme and post a picture of the game.) In a city that is almost entirely brick (because of the Chicago fire of Mrs. O’Leary fame), we found it amazing that many of the elevated platforms for the the trains are wood.

IN A NEW POST CREATED FOR THIS CHALLENGE, SHARE PHOTOS THAT FEATURE THE DIFFERENT MEANS OF PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION.

Everyone is welcome to participate, even if your blog isn’t about photography.

A Photo a Week Challenge: Green

green18_nmp

I might make this an annual challenge. St. Patrick’s Day is tomorrow, and I will of course be wearing green. And eating corned beef and cabbage. I am Irish on both sides, and I love green. I don’t remember the name of this waterfall, but it was one of my favorites on Kauai. And look at all of that green!

IN A NEW POST CREATED FOR THIS CHALLENGE, SHARE A NEW PHOTO OR TWO (OR MORE) FEATURING THE COLOR GREEN.

Everyone is welcome to participate, even if your blog isn’t about photography.
