Here is a picture of my best friend (my husband) doing two of his favorite things: traveling in Europe and posing in a fun perspective photo.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Dense

If you look close (or maybe not so closely) at the top of the very dense forest, you can see the tower of the Ehrenberg Castle ruin. Below is a picture of the full castle, so you can tell just how dense the forest is when looking at it from the foot of the hill where it dwells.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Green

I have never been anywhere that is as green as Switzerland, Germany, and Austria.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Atop

Visiting Schilthorn in the Lauterbrunnen Valley. When we reached the top of the mountain, there were too many clouds to see the valley, but we got a good view on the tram ride up and down.

A Photo a Week Challenge: View from My Front Porch

front_porch_nmp

So, in the spirit of full disclosure, this is not the view from my current front porch. This is the view from my mom’s house, but I have lived there. Whether you have an amazing mountain landscape, a friendly (or not-so friendly) neighbor’s house, or a cityscape over-look from 30 floors up (or more or less), there’s always a story in what you see from your own front porch (or balcony).

IN A NEW POST CREATED FOR THIS CHALLENGE, SHARE A SERIES OF PHOTOS THAT FEATURE THE VIEW FROM YOUR FRONT DOOR (OR BALCONY OR FAVORITE WINDOW).

Everyone is welcome to participate, even if your blog isn’t about photography.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Each week, I’ll come up with a theme and post a photo that I think fits. You take photographs based on your interpretation of the theme, and post them on your blog (a new post!) anytime before the following Thursday, when the next photo theme will be announced.
  2. To make it easy for others to check out your photos, title your blog post “A Photo a Week Challenge: (theme of the week)” and be sure to use the “postaday″ tag.
  3. Come back here and post a link to your image in the comments for this challenge.
  4. Follow nancy merrill photography so that you don’t miss out on weekly challenge announcements.

Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: Look Up

This picture looks up at the steel rope bridge that connects the ruins of Castle Ehrenberg with the fortress ruins on the hill across the highway.

Here’s a picture of what the bridge looks like when you’re on it.
