This is my nephew. He played baseball for his high school baseball team for four years. Yes, he’s very good at it. Just before his senior year started during summer practice, he was hit in the face by a line drive ball that caught him just below his left eye. At first, everyone thought it wasn’t too bad, but it turned out that he had a serious concussion and was out of school for almost a month. This picture was taken about a year ago when he was almost over the concussion and, as you can see, the black eye was almost healed. He’s doing fine now and shows no lingering facial damage or effects of the concussion. Hey, but he has a great story to tell.
IN A NEW POST CREATED FOR THIS CHALLENGE, SHARE A PHOTO OR TWO THAT SHOW NON LIFE-THREATENING INJURIES.
Everyone is welcome to participate, even if your blog isn’t about photography.
Here’s how it works:
- Each week, I’ll come up with a theme and post a photo that I think fits. You take photographs based on your interpretation of the theme, and post them on your blog (a new post!) anytime before the following Thursday, when the next photo theme will be announced.
- To make it easy for others to check out your photos, title your blog post “A Photo a Week Challenge: (theme of the week)” and be sure to use the “postaday″ tag.
- Follow nancy merrill photography so that you don’t miss out on weekly challenge announcements.
Thats great he recovered.
Yes it is!
So good to hear that he has no lasting effects. The injury I recorded has left permanent marks, I’m sorry to say. But even that ended well 😜
🙂
wow
I am not sure if I’ve had any non life-threatening injuries. It has been one near death experience after another. I didn’t fall on my face and break my glasses — and IF I can find the picture, I publish. But I really don’t know if I have a copy I can find. I will try.
I know what you mean. My daughter once told me that I get all of the interesting injuries. I’m not sure that’s actually a complement.
Not my feet, I was lucky.
Such an interesting topic! Here’s my story
Wow! Your story is amazing!
My story looked bad but wasn’t all that bad. A fast ball to the face would have been so sore. Glad he is OK
Thanks! Glad you are, too!
Thanks 🙂
