As a photographer, I take great care about what is in focus in my photos. Changing the focal point of an image can change the entire feel of the photo. In the images I’ve shared for today’s challenge, I’ve taken the same picture but changed the focus of the image. I love each image for different reasons.
IN A NEW POST CREATED FOR THIS CHALLENGE, SHARE A SERIES OF PHOTOS THAT SHOW THE SAME SCENE WITH DIFFERENT FOCUAL POINTS.
Everyone is welcome to participate, even if your blog isn’t about photography.
Here’s how it works:
- Each week, I’ll come up with a theme and post a photo that I think fits. You take photographs based on your interpretation of the theme, and post them on your blog (a new post!) anytime before the following Thursday, when the next photo theme will be announced.
- To make it easy for others to check out your photos, title your blog post “A Photo a Week Challenge: (theme of the week)” and be sure to use the “postaday″ and “Photo a Week” tags.
- Come back here and post a link to your image in the comments for this challenge.
- Follow nancy merrill photography so that you don’t miss out on weekly challenge announcements.
Nancy, I love the shots with the side of the cabin and the trees. They both appeal to me greatly.

Me, too. This is one of my favorite spots to photograph.
It’s a wonderful thing to have eyesight good enough to do your own focusing. I did for so many years, but my eyes just aren’t good enough anymore. They aren’t bad in the sense I’m not going blind, but I have to depend on autofocus — which generally doesn’t give you as much flexibility. The one lens that does give me some flexibility is my macro lens, though sometimes it seems to have a mind of its own!
I’m getting there, too. I can still do some manual focus, but my new camera has a very flexible focus point.
Interesting challenge. https://mukhamani.wordpress.com/2021/09/22/a-photo-a-week-challenge-focal-point/
From your cabin? I love the bark of the birch trees in focus.
great topic and I’ll be trying it again now…..more consciously next time.
Thanks!
I adore your birch tree examples. Love your topic too.
Here is my entry for the week.
Great challenge topic for this week, Nancy.
The moon peaking through the screen is outstanding.
I enjoyed viewing all of them. Thanks for hosting.
