Water, water everywhere, but not a drop to drink. The recent weather in Utah has been a display of the bizarre. We have gone from record highs to snow. The snow pack has started its annual decent to the valley streams, rivers, and lakes. I had the opportunity to take this young man’s photos last weekend, and we went to Sugarhouse Park. I’m not sure which creek this is; it feeds into a large pond (almost lake) in the middle of the park. His mom told me that this is his favorite city park because of the creek and lake, so it seemed the best place to take photos in his first-ever, official grown-up suit. We had a great time taking fun photos, and he had a great time watching twigs and small branches float along the creek and observing the ducks in the water. A great time was had by all.
IN A NEW POST CREATED FOR THIS CHALLENGE, SHARE A PHOTO OR TWO THAT FEATURES WATER OF ANY KIND.
Everyone is welcome to participate, even if your blog isn’t about photography.
Here’s how it works:
- Each week, I’ll come up with a theme and post a photo that I think fits. You take photographs based on your interpretation of the theme, and post them on your blog (a new post!) anytime before the following Thursday, when the next photo theme will be announced.
- To make it easy for others to check out your photos, title your blog post “A Photo a Week Challenge: (theme of the week)” and be sure to use the “postaday″ and “Photo a Week” tags.
- Come back here and post a link to your image in the comments for this challenge.
- Follow nancy merrill photography so that you don’t miss out on weekly challenge announcements.

Not much of a water thing going on here in the desert, but at the Preserve, they’ve released some water that’s making a small stream gurgle attractively over the rocks, so I enjoyed that greatly. Other than that, the flowing water is in the canals, which is necessary but not very interesting.

😊
Beautiful picture. Down by the river?
It’s a creek from the mountains into a small lake (pond really) at one of the city parks. 😊
Nice shadows
Looks like a lovely place.
It is.
Such a beautiful challenge!!
Thanks!
Love your photo – it reminds me of my grandson!

Lovely snap this is, Nancy. Good to know that you can visit lakes and ponds in your area whereas I can’t because beaches are still under lockdown whereas markets are opened.
We’ve had a spike in cases here, so they are talking about going back to more restrictions. It will be interesting to see if people are willing to do that.
Thank you for this fun challenge.
Here is my entry for this week.
It’s been raining for 2 weeks and still 10 days to go.. way too much water.. 😉
Way too much. 😉
I love your interpretative photo. You can see mine here. Thanks for hosting. https://picture-retirement.com/2020/06/14/a-photo-a-week-challenge-water/#comments
Such wonderful shots by all!
Nice one! Here’s mine – https://myheart2heart.blog/2020/06/15/out-in-the-blue/
I’ve been playing around with reflections lately, mostly of the miniature (puddle) kind but for your challenge I dredged out a bigger puddle.
My response was also taken at the water’s edge: https://wp.me/p2owKx-1HE

Hi Nancy, see your prompt has excited a lot of interest!
It overlaps nicely with my ‘surf’ prompt on Friday Fun … so if any of your readers want to link there too they’d be most welcome 🙂
