Sorry about no challenge last week. With COVID-19 raging throughout the world, things have been a bit crazy here. And then yesterday morning, Salt Lake City was hit with a magnitude 5.7 earthquake. Needless to say, this topic seemed to fit perfectly for the world situation right now.
Last week, I had the chance to visit this job site the day they were flying in the roof trusses. It was the first time I’ve had seen this, and it was a blast. The framers were amazing, climbing all over the frames to secure them once the crane lifted them up for placement. I picked this particular image because I loved how the sunbursts helped to frame it.
IN A NEW POST CREATED FOR THIS CHALLENGE, SHARE A PHOTO OR TWO OF THINGS THAT ARE AIRBORNE OR UP IN THE AIR IN ANY WAY.
Everyone is welcome to participate, even if your blog isn’t about photography.
Here’s how it works:
- Each week, I’ll come up with a theme and post a photo that I think fits. You take photographs based on your interpretation of the theme, and post them on your blog (a new post!) anytime before the following Thursday, when the next photo theme will be announced.
- To make it easy for others to check out your photos, title your blog post “A Photo a Week Challenge: (theme of the week)” and be sure to use the “postaday″ tag.
- Follow nancy merrill photography so that you don’t miss out on weekly challenge announcements.
Glad you are okay.
Thanks. Shook up but very little damage and no gas lines or structural damage at all.
The blue sky!
The oh-so gorgeous blue sky in your snap looks so wonderful 🙂
Thanks! It was a beautiful day.
Good to know you’re okay. Your total silence last week plus the news about the earthquake in Utah (which almost was no news in Germany as corona blots out everything, it seems) had me a bit worried.
Thanks! My mother and mother-in-law are both in their mid 80s, so we’ve been figuring out how to handle taking care of them from a distance the
Is last week. The earthquake was intense while it was happening, but no fatalities and small pockets of building damage, mostly to very old buildings. We are still experiencing aftershocks, but those will taper off over the next week .
Great timing on your topic for me.

And it’s only MARCH. Just think what could happen for the next 9 months? Great picture!
Thanks! The next few months will truly be interesting.
Locusts in Africa, earthquakes, covid.. The world is definitely crying out really loudly.. ;-(
Very true. We’re waiting to see if sacrificing a lamb will be required soon to paint our lintels.

As if a pandemic isn’t horrible enough. Earthquake too. Glad you and your loved ones are okay. For so many of us, these are “hang in there” times.
