Water, water everywhere, but not a drop to drink. This weekend, we were in Chicago and decided to take a walk along the shores of Lake Michigan. The weather seemed pleasant until we were about two blocks from the beach. The wind along the shore was so strong that we did contemplate turning back, but decided to forge on. The waves were massive and looked very dangerous, but gave us some great shots. I really like this one of with the seagulls and the beacon. We usually like to walk out to the beacons, but decided to forego that on this particular day. It looked a little dicey on the pier.
IN A NEW POST CREATED FOR THIS CHALLENGE, SHARE A PHOTO OR TWO THAT FEATURES WATER OF ANY KIND.
Everyone is welcome to participate, even if your blog isn’t about photography.
Here’s how it works:
- Each week, I’ll come up with a theme and post a photo that I think fits. You take photographs based on your interpretation of the theme, and post them on your blog (a new post!) anytime before the following Thursday, when the next photo theme will be announced.
- To make it easy for others to check out your photos, title your blog post “A Photo a Week Challenge: (theme of the week)” and be sure to use the “postaday″ and “Photo a Week” tags.
- Come back here and post a link to your image in the comments for this challenge.
- Follow nancy merrill photography so that you don’t miss out on weekly challenge announcements.
After quite a long break from photo challenges, I was looking for one (since, sadly, the Daily Post stopped theirs) – and found yours! Thank you for that. Here is my first contribution. It came at the right time because I have been waiting to showcase my Water of Leith picutre 😉 Here goes:

Hi Nancy. https://odaciuk.wordpress.com/2018/09/15/the-secret-of-beauty-of-dark-waters/
I love the topic- it is one of my favorite things to photograph! https://dailymusing57.com/2018/09/14/a-photo-a-week-challenge-water/
I like the dimensions (or layers) in your image – the sand, water, sky…
and Lake Michigan looks nice – even if it was choppy that day –
Thanks! This was a surprisingly quiet moment for that day. The waves were huge. 🙂

My daughter lived in Chicago – I have a hard time remembering a time when we visited her and it wasn’t windy there. You’ve captured a cool shot of the waves and seagulls! Nice job! Thanks for the opportunity to play along with this challenge. https://www.quaintrevival.com/surreal-discoveries-about-blogging/
I’m not on Facebook, frowned on in my profession, but I know there is this thing called “unfriending”. Is there such a thing with our Blogging community? Like, if you issue a perfectly lovely and reasonable challenge for A photo a week, and one Blogger repeatedly posts 20 photos??? Am I at risk for being…uh..whatever the WordPress version of unfriending is?? (smiley face with a wink here.)

After a long time I posted a foto for this challenge.
Ban has been imposed at my local beach by authorities because of sea’s roughness these days. Otherwise, I would’ve gone there with family to enjoy a day with sun and sea.
Lovely snap you have taken, Nancy 🙂
Thanks Hammad! I hope they open the beach again soon. 🙂

Hello again Nancy, Here is my offering for this week. It was shot in December in Prague, but I was working on editing it this week, which shows how rather behind I am on my editing.

I think perhaps many people in the path of Hurricane Florence just wish the water would stop. Here’s my entry for this week’s challenge. My thanks for hosting. https://wordpress.com/post/pausesandclicks.com/8671
