Sorry about the late night posting for this challenge. It’s been a couple of crazy, stressful weeks. But that’s for another time. This week’s challenge is delicate. These beautiful blossoms drew me, and I’ve used other images from this same shoot for other challenges. I love the delicate look of the petals and the delicate pink coloring.
IN A NEW POST CREATED FOR THIS CHALLENGE, SHARE A PHOTO OR TWO THAT FEATURE DELICACY.
Everyone is welcome to participate, even if your blog isn’t about photography.
Here’s how it works:
- Each week, I’ll come up with a theme and post a photo that I think fits. You take photographs based on your interpretation of the theme, and post them on your blog (a new post!) anytime before the following Thursday, when the next photo theme will be announced.
- To make it easy for others to check out your photos, title your blog post “A Photo a Week Challenge: (theme of the week)” and be sure to use the “postaday″ and “Photo a Week” tags.
- Come back here and post a link to your image in the comments for this challenge.
- Follow nancy merrill photography so that you don’t miss out on weekly challenge announcements.
That’s so beautiful 💕
Thanks!
Beautiful, Nancy! I pray that the upcoming week will be less stressful!!

Thank you! My husband’s exwife was murdered at work two weeks ago. It’s hit the kids so hard, and while we are sad, they are devastated.
Oh, my goodness! How terrible! I can’t imagine how difficult that must be. Praying for them as well.
Thank you so much!
Condolences….That is a horrible thing to experience on any level.
Thank you!
Just read this – such a terrible thing. So sorry to hear it.
Thanks! It’s been such a roller coaster. She was a city worker, so it has been in the news with reporters trying to get statements from the kids and her family. Plus getting two kids her from out of state with their spouses and all of that craziness. The funeral was handled by the city, which was nice, and it was lovely.
It is bad enough to lose someone, but to go through this publicly is so painful.
Yes it is. Thank you.
Oh my!
My condolences to your husband and kids.
Thanks, Hammad.
Thanks for another interesting challenge, Nancy. https://onewomansquest.org/2018/08/24/a-photo-a-week-delicate/

That’s some horror tale. I won’t ask for any details. The broad outlines are bad enough. Poor kids. Poor everyone!
Thanks, Marilyn. There’s plenty of detail available on the internet, and we’ve tried to shelter the kids from the worst of it, but they’re all adults so I’m sure they will eventual see it all.
Thanks for including me in your list! 🙂
It’s very OK! I am sorry if anything I said created pressure. I totally understand that you are under no contract or obligation to host this. I am very grateful for the time put into doing something like this, let alone keeping up your blog. I guess it’s just when you have a routine and a big piece of the puzzle Is missing, and it’s not like them, it becomes more concern for you, never a blog! Thank you for continuing to host. It is one I look forward to!
No, don’t worry at all. I had actually just posted the challenge and then checked for comments when I saw yours. Thank you!
I never tire of those pink blooms – we have a tree out front – is this cherry?
It’s not a cherry tree. I’m not sure what it is, but it doesn’t produce fruit. I pass it each week on my way to a piano student’s home. 🙂
well the one I have with similar blooms is a non-fruit type of cherry blossom – it is flowering cherry tree and I think these are the ones in DC that were gifted to us from japan.
This could be one of those, too. 🙂
🙂
well either way – gorgeous blooms and so cheery for a post.
we just got back from a funeral for a 47 year old and flowers really do bring some sweetness –
Yes, they do.
and so sorry about your husband’s ex – ugh – sending condolences to you both
Thank you.
Here’s my contribution to your challenge – https://beinginnatureblog.wordpress.com/2018/08/27/a-photo-a-week-challenge-delicate/
The pink is certainly shining vibrantly in this snap 🙂
Thanks, Hammad!
your image contrasts so prettily and poignantly with your family tragedy – so sorry.
p.s. I have perhaps over-interpreted your prompt this week
No, you got it right. Life is also very delicate and easy to lose. Thank you!

A good theme for your current situation. Huge condolences to all and respect of continuing your blog. I have a delicate view of an industrial building: https://travelwithintent.com/2018/08/28/motion-blur-tate-modern-london/
I’m starting to feel guilty because I find it impossible to post just one photo as a response to your weekly challenges! This week is no exception! https://pausesandclicks.com/2018/08/29/a-photo-a-week-challenge-delicate/
