Looking back through past challenges, I found that I have never done a dedicated black and white challenge. It really surprised me. I love editing in black and white. When I was still shooting with film, I loved using black and white dedicated film, especially for slides. There’s something amazing about black and white images. They are instantly nostalgic and artistic.
IN A NEW POST CREATED FOR THIS CHALLENGE, SHARE A BLACK AND WHITE PHOTO OR TWO (OR MORE).
Everyone is welcome to participate, even if your blog isn’t about photography.
Here’s how it works:
- Each week, I’ll come up with a theme and post a photo that I think fits. You take photographs based on your interpretation of the theme, and post them on your blog (a new post!) anytime before the following Thursday, when the next photo theme will be announced.
- To make it easy for others to check out your photos, title your blog post “A Photo a Week Challenge: (theme of the week)” and be sure to use the “postaday″ tag.
- Come back here and post a link to your image in the comments for this challenge.
- Follow nancy merrill photography so that you don’t miss out on weekly challenge announcements.
The question is not what to post but what to leave out … You have a beautiful baby shot there.
Thanks! I love the ones you selected. 🙂

Amazing eyes!
Thanks, Carolyn. She really does have amazing eyes. And the cutest smile. 🙂
I do very seldom B&Ws. I played around with the filters and that’s the result: https://geriatrixfotogallerie.wordpress.com/2017/04/28/playing-with-filters/
She is a cutie and I like the way the exposed light plays on her. Here is my effort:-

It’s funny how black and white, once upon a time, my primary photographic tool, has stolen away as digital color has take over. This is a perfect offering. Thank you!
Thanks, Marilyn!

The world was expressed in black and white before color films and prints gained popularity. But this doesn’t faded them up entirely.
The expression on baby’s face feels more vibrant in black and white.
Hello, This is my first contribution for your challenge
