Portrait photography isn’t just about faces. It’s about capturing the essence of your subject. Hands and feet create wonderful images that can tell a lot about a person. This is the foot of a two-day old baby. I love the texture created by the lines in the soul. For a moment during this shoot, she was relaxed and calm.

I’m surprised a baby’s foot is so wrinkled – I thought it would be smooth!
It takes a few days for them to fill out completely. By two weeks, they are mostly smooth and cuddly. 🙂
