Anyone who knows me well knows my love of fresh fruit, especially berries. Actually, I’m a great lover of food. I think there’s a good chance that without food, I would die. Literally. Food has been the subject of art for centuries. Young art students and grand masters alike have painted and sketched thousands of still lifes of bowls upon bowls of fruit. Photographers are no different. We carefully place each tasty item, make sure the lighting is decent, and snap away. Food is life, in healthy bodies and in art.
IN A NEW POST CREATED FOR THIS CHALLENGE, SHARE A SERIES OF PHOTOS THAT FEATURE FOOD.
Everyone is welcome to participate, even if your blog isn’t about photography.
Here’s how it works:
- Each week, I’ll come up with a theme and post a photo that I think fits. You take photographs based on your interpretation of the theme, and post them on your blog (a new post!) anytime before the following Thursday, when the next photo theme will be announced.
- To make it easy for others to check out your photos, title your blog post “A Photo a Week Challenge: (theme of the week)” and be sure to use the “postaday″ tag.
- Come back here and post a link to your image in the comments for this challenge.
- Follow nancy merrill photography so that you don’t miss out on weekly challenge announcements.
Beautiful. I love fruits, all kind. https://amaltaas.wordpress.com/2017/02/23/a-photo-a-week-challenge-edible
Berries are my favorite fruits to eat. These look like they’re waiting for me. YUM ..!!!
Fabulous photograph …
Isadora 😎
Thanks, Isadora! It was a delightful breakfast this morning. 🙂
A really yummy photo, Nancy. 🙂
Thanks, Sylvia!
Wow, what a beautiful still-life photo. Food doesn’t play a major role in my life so I searched my photo archives to come up with an “edible” shot…and of course stretched the rules!

Wow, can I have a bowl???? Great image … and the colors!!!! Here is my entry – http://wp.me/p293Pw-eft
That looks fabulous, Nancy. Since you stole my berry theme, I went elsewhere for edible inspiration. 🙂

This always looks so easy. I look at yours, I go take a few pictures, then I look at them and realize — NOT so easy. You make it LOOK easy 😀
It’s mostly in the post-processing. I also have a nicely worn wood table that makes a great background for food. 🙂
Okay, and here it is: https://teepee12.com/2017/02/27/tangerines/
Lovely one Nancy!
I love the colour combination of strawberries, raspberries and blueberries. What a shame I can’t pluck one out of your picture. Mine are taken in the veg garden.

I tried commenting, but Blogger didn’t like me. Here’s what I tried to write: “Now I’m looking forward to planting and harvesting our garden this year. 🙂 Nice work on the images and the veggies. Thanks for joining the challenge!”
I’m sorry Blogger didn’t like you which is odd as you have managed to comment previously but thanks for coming by anyway!
I know! I just tried with your most recent post, and it still won’t let me. 😦 I love your view and your photo skills. Just lovely.
Hi Nancy. Thanks for a tasty challenge. Here’s my edible entry. https://jennysotherstuff.wordpress.com/2017/03/01/edible-iceblocks-for-adults/
