This week’s challenge is all about architecture. This is the tower at Old Main on the Utah State University campus in Logan, Utah. Old Main is a beautiful building that overlooks the Cache Valley and Logan from the eastern foothills. I don’t know much about its history, but I do know that my husband is annoyed by the large A that they’ve put on the roof of the tower and the mirror windows that are obviously not from the same era as the rest of the structure.
IN A NEW POST CREATED FOR THIS CHALLENGE, SHARE A PHOTO OR TWO OF TOWERS.
Everyone is welcome to participate, even if your blog isn’t about photography.
Here’s how it works:
- Each week, I’ll come up with a theme and post a photo that I think fits. You take photographs based on your interpretation of the theme, and post them on your blog (a new post!) anytime before the following Thursday, when the next photo theme will be announced.
- To make it easy for others to check out your photos, title your blog post “A Photo a Week Challenge: (theme of the week)” and be sure to use the “postaday″ tag.
- Follow nancy merrill photography so that you don’t miss out on weekly challenge announcements.
I’ll be on the look out for towers this week and link up soon. By the way, your husband and I share the same opinion! I think that huge “A” looks quite ridiculous on that old historic building – and isn’t it neon?!? Sheesh!
have a lovely day, Nancy 🙂

It’s a lovely tower, but I also think that ‘A’ looks so incongruous. 😕
It’s one of those things that make you wonder what they were thinking. My husband said that the A also lights up. *shudder
Indeed! 😳
It took me a while. Towers are in short supply locally, but I found a couple, just for you. Tomorrow morning 🙂
A lovely picture. Okay, I give up. What is “A” at USU? Sports? I can’t remember. 😜
They are the USU Aggies (Agriculturalists). You can’t blame them for shortening it to Aggies. Their mascot is a cow.
