A Photo a Week Challenge: Pretty in Pink

Color is such an important part of our visual experience. It goes hand-in-hand with light in drawing us to or away from an image. For this bride (whose gown was a beautiful ivory), the perfect complimentary color for her bridesmaids and matron was pink. The soft, subtle hue of her attendants’ dresses created a lovely feeling for the wedding party. Although pink has never been on my radar as a favorite color, I find that it really is an easy color to photograph in a variety of shades and subjects.

Everyone is welcome to participate, even if your blog isn’t about photography. Here’s how it works:

  1. Each week, I’ll come up with a theme and post a photo that I think fits. You take photographs based on your interpretation of the theme, and post them on your blog (a new post!) anytime before the following Thursday, when the next photo theme will be announced.
  2. To make it easy for others to check out your photos, title your blog post “A Photo a Week Challenge: (theme of the week)” and be sure to use the “postaday″ and “Photo a Week” tags.
  3. Come back here and post a link to your image in the comments for this challenge.
  4. Follow nancy merrill photography so that you don’t miss out on weekly challenge announcements.

  1. What happy faces in your picture!
Yeah for Pink! I just took some baby pictures that are perfect for this challenge! I am gone for the weekend, but I can work on these next week since I need to finish editing them anyway. Oh wait…I did send the mom a few samples….

  2. They are indeed pretty in pink, though I admit if someone made me wear a dress like that, I might have to leave the country and hide until it was over 🙂 I like pink in nature, not on me!

  3. Here are some tulips I photographed in April in the Jardin du Luxembourg, Paris. Thanks for the challenge! V=https://amaviedecoeurentier.wordpress.com/2015/11/02/pretty-in-pink/
