A Photo a Week Challenge: Favorite Color in Nature

orange_nmp

Frequently, I am asked what my favorite color is. For years, it has stayed steady at dark green, but I’ve started noticing that my favorite color is probably the one I’m currently working with in a photo, so it might be green or red or purple, depending on how it’s turning out. My brother-in-law, who is a very talented artist, answers this question with one of his own: “For what?” Meaning, what is the item? For me, my favorite color for flowers is “Yes”. I love flowers in all colors. This week, I found this shot taken a couple of years ago and thought “This is my favorite color for this little flower, right now.” Next week, I might see it in pink or yellow and think the same thing. That’s the fun and beauty of nature.

IN A NEW POST CREATED FOR THIS CHALLENGE, SHARE SHOTS OF YOUR FAVORITE COLOR IN NATURE.

Everyone is welcome to participate, even if your blog isn’t about photography.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Each week, I’ll come up with a theme and post a photo that I think fits. You take photographs based on your interpretation of the theme, and post them on your blog (a new post!) anytime before the following Thursday, when the next photo theme will be announced.
  2. To make it easy for others to check out your photos, title your blog post “A Photo a Week Challenge: (theme of the week)” and be sure to use the “postaday″ and “Photo a Week” tags.
  3. Come back here and post a link to your image in the comments for this challenge.
  4. Follow nancy merrill photography so that you don’t miss out on weekly challenge announcements.

  1. I rather agree wit you. My favorite color is the one I’m working with, at least for flowers. But I do notice over all a tendency to the purple-red-pink spectrum. It’s the color of sunrise and sunset, of roses and fuchsia and so much else. But really, in the right context, I love every color.
