Have you ever tilted your camera on accident and then thought “Wow, that works!” If you have some time to work with your subject (or subjects), try some shots with your camera tiled from slightly to wildly and see what happens. It can add a unique twist to a commonplace image.
IN A NEW POST CREATED FOR THIS CHALLENGE, SHARE PHOTOS THAT ARE AT A UNIQUE ANGLE.
Everyone is welcome to participate, even if your blog isn’t about photography.
Here’s how it works:
- Each week, I’ll come up with a theme and post a photo that I think fits. You take photographs based on your interpretation of the theme, and post them on your blog (a new post!) anytime before the following Thursday, when the next photo theme will be announced.
- To make it easy for others to check out your photos, title your blog post “A Photo a Week Challenge: (theme of the week)” and be sure to use the “postaday″ and “Photo a Week” tags.
- Come back here and post a link to your image in the comments for this challenge.
- Follow nancy merrill photography so that you don’t miss out on weekly challenge announcements.
Thanks for the new idea Nancy, but I could not resist posting these photos of two boys:) Regards.

Love how the folks at the rear are tilted towards the center.
A really fun photo, Nancy. I often have to straighten my horizons. 🙂
My husband looooves tilting the camera. I don’t usually take tilted photos – somehow I haven’t found “formula” that would satisfy me.

Thanks for a great challenge! https://throughtheviewfinderphotoblog.wordpress.com/2015/03/26/a-photo-a-week-challenge-tilted/
Great photo. I think tilted can be a great effect. I just don’t have a lot of experience using it. I hope you like my entry!

Love your photo! Such fun to be able to use my tilted photos! https://dailymusing57.wordpress.com/2015/03/26/a-photo-a-week-challenge-tilted/
I hate accidental tilting, especially when it’s just a little bit off and no matter how you look at it, it’s wrong somehow. But I enjoy tilting on purpose, as you did in your photo. It adds a kind of zaniness that’s a lot of fun.
Hi Nancy. Loved the shot of your family. Very effective. In lieu of family members, here are some flags and ocean creatures–on the plate and otherwise. https://grieflessons.wordpress.com/2015/03/26/photo-a-week-challenge-tilted/
Hey Nancy, thanks for sharing your story and the chance to share mine. https://rwoodnpblog.wordpress.com/2015/03/26/a-photo-a-week-challenge-tilted/
Interesting one… there are those who are always titling the camera… like me!

Hi Merrill, Horizontal is horizontal and vertical is vertical 😉

Here’s me in the Philippines, and the other one was taken a long time ago. We framed it tilted 🙂 https://ladyleemanila.wordpress.com/2015/03/28/a-photo-a-week-challenge-tilted/
I love tilted photos. Here is my contribution to the theme:

a bit of tilt can work wonders. Sometimes it’s the only way to fit the subject in frame.
Here is my tilt at this topic: http://travelwithintent.com/2015/03/31/gherkin-at-a-tilt/
I wanted to make it straight but it works much better this way… https://geriatrixfotogallerie.wordpress.com/2015/03/31/anchor/
Interesting theme Nancy! My entry this week: https://cometravelalong.wordpress.com/2015/04/01/tilted/
Nancy, have you changed your name to Nadia? I have noticed a difference in your URL–Here is my submission for this “Tilted” challenge! http://judydykstrabrown.com/2015/06/28/tilted-things-nancy-merrills-photo-a-week-challenge/
No, Nadia is a nickname my sister gave me, and when I first set up this blog, I used that in the url, so now I’m kinda stuck with it. 🙂
Aha like my “grieflessons” except I filled up my blog so had to go with the “pay” version which let me change my domain name, so no more grieflessons.
