As photographers, we get the chance to take a lot of pictures of many things: scenery, family, scenery, buildings, scenery, pets, scenery. You get the picture (pun intended). I can’t think of anywhere that I’ve ever been where I thought “Wow, I never want to take a picture of THIS place.” And I’m really glad about that. The world around us is amazing. Every place has it’s own type of beauty. These pictures are from our recent trip to Scotland. The first one is looking over the countryside from Stirling Castle. The second (one I’ve posted before) is call The Queen’s View and was the favorite view of Queen Margaret (Robert the Bruce’s wife) in all of Scotland. So this week’s challenge is to find the beauty in your view, whether it’s just outside your kitchen window or from a once-in-a-lifetime trip.
IN A NEW POST CREATED FOR THIS CHALLENGE, SHARE A PHOTO OR TWO OF YOUR FAVORITEÂ VIEW OR VIEWS.
Everyone is welcome to participate, even if your blog isn’t about photography.
Here’s how it works:
- Each week, I’ll come up with a theme and post a photo that I think fits. You take photographs based on your interpretation of the theme, and post them on your blog (a new post!) anytime before the following Thursday, when the next photo theme will be announced.
- To make it easy for others to check out your photos, title your blog post “A Photo a Week Challenge: (theme of the week)” and be sure to use the “postaday″ and “Photo a Week” tags.
- Come back here and post a link to your image in the comments for this challenge.
- Follow nancy merrill photography so that you don’t miss out on weekly challenge announcements.

Maybe I can try this one… I got a camera! A Nikon D3300. I hope to be able to use it and learn from it for a long time.
It’s a good one. Have fun!
Thanks! I plan on it! Already have some informal photos of the Orlando Temple.
That temple is on my list of ones to visit. My mother used to have a goal of visiting all of the temples in the world. She’s 81 and has made it to over 50, but she doesn’t think she’ll get to the rest now. 🙂
That is the one hubby and I were sealed in. Also, my boys’ endowments were done. They were sealed to us in the Logan Temple.
I’ve been to the Logan Temple several times, but I’ve only done an endowment session there once.
Hubby and I both went to USU. Go Aggies! I love Logan, and if we could make enough money to live on, that’s where we’d live.
Very, very beautiful views:)
Thank you!
I like your challenges:)

Such stunning photos and the more interesting since we will be in this area later this year. Lovely compositions.
I highly recommend visiting both places. Scotland was so beautiful. I really only had to point my camera, make sure it was in focus, and click.
Great pics Nancy! Here are mine

Hard to beat these Scottish views. But I’m trying with a beautiful sunny view from the Malvern Hills: http://travelwithintent.com/2015/02/09/hazy-malvern-hills/
I love how well this challenge fit with my recent trip to Sri Lanka. http://3rsofretirement.com/2015/02/08/viewing-nature-in-scale/
I rarely post linked to two challenges so I decided I would do two, both including view and scale. Here is the second one: http://3rsofretirement.com/2015/02/08/view-the-highlands-of-sri-lanka/
Both are beautiful. Thanks for doing double-duty!
Great views, Nancy! Here is mine:
